Mr. Somasiri De Silva joined CCPPASL 6th February, 2006. From the very beginning, he participated enthusiastically, every programe launched by the National Committee, to uplift the objectives of the association. Soon he elected to the executive committee and later-on appointed as the Auditor. In 2011 he was elected as the Treasurer for two year period. He did his accounting work very neat and tidy and the general assembly wanted him to continue another year as the treasurer and here he is.

Somasiri studied at Taxila Central College, Horana during 1963 – 1969, entered Vidyodaya University (Now Jayawardhenepura) in 1970 and completed his first degree in B.Sc. Business Administration in 1975. While studying at the University he was able to study at Sri Lanka Technical College at Maradana and Govt. Polytecnical Institute at Dehiwala to complete National Diploma in Accountancy and National Diploma in Business Studies successfully.

In 1974, he started his professional career as an Internal Audit Officer at Ceylon Transport Board and in 1976 joined Sri Lanka Accountants service as an Accountant at Police Department. During 1979 – 1982 worked as an Assistant Director, Public Enterprises at General Treasury. Resigning from Government service he joined Employees’ Trust Fund Board as an Accountant and left ETF in 1992 as the Finance Manager.

Since 1992 he has been working as a Financial Consultant in Foreign funding organizations of UNDP, FAO and World Bank. During this period he has been awarded Diplomas in Foreign Funding Accounting Systems from ILO, Italy and Canada. At present he serves as the Financial Consultant at ICTA, the World Bank funded Organization in Information and Communication Technology of Sri Lanka.
